Good Morning Grade 4 families -- today has been a fantastic start to our day.  Right now in math our kids are learning different division strategies where they use multiplication to help solve the problem.  The kids and staff are fully engaged in their learning and thinking and participating in some great cooperative group learning.

Here is the goal for today's IM Lesson:
The purpose of this lesson is for students to solve division problems that involve finding unknown factors. They do so by reasoning with partial quotients and by decomposing a dividend into familiar multiples of the divisor. In the problems, the dividends are greater than 100 and the divisions result in whole numbers with and without a remainder.

As the kids were learning this new strategy I challenged our 4th graders tonight to see if they could use what they learned today to solve the following enrichment problem below.  Any child who brings me their correct work will receive a positive phone call and their teacher will get a prize!
