Good Morning South Side Families - 

I hope you had a great weekend and enjoyed some time outside on this cool spring day.  This week we have an incredibly busy week both during the school day and after school.  Here is what you need to know for the week ahead.  

Thanks to members of our climate team for crafting our 'Wellness Week" schedule.  Self-care is so important so each day we will participate in activities designated to support individual wellness.  If families decide to expand upon this and do additional wellness activities at home, please email or text a picture so we can include it on morning announcements.  
Monday is our family field trip at Indian Rock.  The weather looks perfect for a fun night outside to participate in three different activities in nature.  If you have signed up to participate please arrive at 5:45pm so we can break everyone into groups and get started right at 6pm.  We have 6 spaces left if you didn't sign up!  We are also proud to share that we have invited our brand new incoming kindergarten families to participate in this free family event. 
Tuesday is our spring concert at BCHS.  All families are invited to attend this musical display to celebrate our kids, our musicians and our music staff.  The concert starts at 6:30pm and we hope you can make it. 

Want an ice cream??   There will also be an ice-cream truck at the concert at BCHS -- for any family to purchase ice cream after the concert.  A portion of all sales will go to support our music program.

On Wednesday we will welcome our incoming kindergarten students and families for the 2025-26 kindergarten orientation which begins at 5:30pm.  This is an opportunity for incoming kindergarten families to see our school, meet our staff, and learn about the kindergarten day.  Welcome to all of our incoming Kindergarten kids and families -- we are so happy to have YOU!

On Thursday Mrs. Zimmermann will be hosting a play and learn group in the cafeteria for our community.  This is a great opportunity to welcome other childcare providers and families into the school for a structured play opportunity, a craft activity and a snack.  We are so fortunate to have the world's best Family Resource Center. 

Lastly on Friday we will have our last FRC family breakfast of the year.  This will begin at 8:00am and we hope you can make it.  A sign up sheet will be going out shortly.  School Store will also be open during all lunch waves for our kids.  Thanks to our PTA for making this happen!
