Good Afternoon South Side Families,
Happy Friday. We have had a very busy and exciting week and we have a lot to celebrate! Here are some of the week's highlights.
Yesterday Sebastian M., one of our 5th graders, participated in the Special Olympics Torch Run. He joined members from the Bristol Police to show their support of Special Olympics all across the state. It was great to have some friends and classmates cheering him on as he ran past the school yesterday. Great job Sebastian!
Earlier this week, thanks to our amazing PTA, all classes participated in an enrichment lesson to celebrate our STEAM week. Each grade participated in different science, technology and engineering activities which were a highlight of our STEAM learning. Thanks to the most amazing PTA in the entire world.
Also today, all students participated in a Connecticut Science Center enrichment program on suds and bubbles. Thanks to Miss Ferony and Mr. Thierault for using the district enrichment funds to bring this engaging and fun learning opportunity for our kids to enjoy. Earlier today members of Mrs. Webster's 5th grade class had the opportunity to 'Silly String' me, of course, wearing a painters suit and gorilla mask, as they were the class who raised the most money for the 5th grade coin challenge.
Continuing with the theme of STEAM week, our kids in our special area classes have been engaged in some very creative art and engineering learning. Although we are down to only 8 days of school left, we are maximizing each of those days for learning! Thanks to all staff for continuing to make learning fun as we are down to the last few days of 2025. Lastly, we are excited to welcome back our 5th graders and families tonight for our annual 5th Grade Night Celebration. This event is held yearly to celebrate our 5th graders and their hard work as they prepare for middle school.
Have a great weekend and stay cool!
